Essential Oils: The natural way to keep it clean
Back again I see, well welcome back! Today is just a quickie, based on last week’s post about fragrances. I talked a little about essential oils and how we use them in our products to make them smell so fantastic! Well this week I thought I’d give a quick rundown of some of my favourite oils, what kind of therapeutic uses they have and highlight why we chose to use that particular oil.

Lemongrass: A delicious and slightly exotic smell, I’ve always enjoyed lemongrass and am dying to make something where I can pair it with ginger for a real uplifting punch of aroma! It’s a great oil for congested oily skin and can help with fungal and acne issues. It has an invigorating aroma while maintain balance and not overstimulating the person. We use this in our laundry liquid to provide an invigorating punch to your daily washing cycle.

Peppermint: Peppermint is one of those classic fresh smells, I am yet to meet a person that says that don’t like the smell of fresh peppermint. An amazing scent, peppermint is great at clearing airways, sinus and decongesting chests. Great at cooling not just the body but emotions it is great for calming those who are a little too fired up and clearing the minds of those who need to chill out. We use this in our orange and peppermint bench spray because it not only smells amazing and clean but has some positive antiseptic properties.

Lime: Lime is like Lemons preppy posh friend, cuter, slightly exotic and just that bit more interesting. It’s one of my favourite smells, it’s so distinct you can almost taste it on the air. Another oil that’s great for greasy/oily skin it also sports some neat antimicrobial and antifungal features. With its revitalising fragrance it’s just what the doctor ordered to bring you back to life after a hard day’s work or to keep you going while you slog through the family dishes. We use Lime oil in our dishwash liquid where it helps cut through nasty greasy dishes and in our bodywash, where its reviving smell will help wash away that stressful day.
These are just a few of the oils we use (these in particular are some of my favs), you can find these and much more over at www.littlefootonline.com and let me know what some of your favourite oils are, I’m always happy to hear what y’all are into and if there’s anything new I can cook up for ya.
