An Explanation for last weeks post
Last week you may have noticed that the blog post was a little more assertive than previous weeks. Like everyone else in the country at the moment I am (as of Tuesday was) dealing with lockdown, the best that I can, and used the post last week to vent a little about how I feel.
This week I thought I would explain why I feel so strongly about what we are going through and why I felt the need to so passionately plea with people to wash their damn hands, so please, bear with me.

We all know that this virus has been an issue for a while now, it’s been around and causing chaos for the better part of 2 years now. Some people still don’t understand (or don’t believe) how much of an issue it is and the damage it can cause. Because of people like this I have had to go through the scary experience of having half of my family contracting the virus.
Last year I got told my 80-year-old grandmother had got the virus. She is already an unwell lady. Before I knew it the whole of my mother’s side of the family had contracted it. All my aunties, my uncles, cousins, everyone. My grandmother ended up in the ICU on a ventilator and is, to this day, dealing with complications and can’t leave her house.

That whole side of my family got incredibly sick and in some cases almost died because people close to them couldn’t follow guidelines or didn’t think the problem was real. Well, it is. This is why it is so important to me that people wash their hands and follow the guidelines.
Last year when this outbreak happened we worked hard to help those out there who were most vulnerable and ended up giving away around 100 Litres of hand sanitiser when it was really needed. This year Im not able to. The best I can do is share this story with you all in the hopes that you will take it seriously and do everything in your power to keep it under control.
